2010 gmc sierra 1500 fornt angle view 2010 GMC Sierra 1500

2010 GMC Sierra 1500 is alongside the nearly identical Chevrolet Silverado. The Sierra’s wide, tall grille is its hallmark, with big GMC lettering inside; the boxy flares around its fenders are subtle reminders that this is the same brand that sells the extreme-looking 2010 Terrain crossover.

Inside the Sierra’s cabin, some models have a simple, upright design with larger controls and door handles-better suited for work duty-while pricey versions have an interior that would fit in a luxury sedan. The upgraded instrument panel has a smoother, lower design, as well as surfaces and materials that come together nicely.

The 2010 GMC Sierra Hybrid is more of the same; unless it’s fitted with the optional hybrid decal package and the hybrid LCD readouts, observers will likely not notice it as different from a standard Sierra pickup. The 2010 model year brings only minor changes to the Sierra, including revised interior door panels.

2010 GMC Sierra 1500 offer some powertrains option, There’s also a flex-fuel 5.3-liter V-8 with 315 hp and cylinder deactivation for improved fuel economy, which is standard in XFE models and available in other versions. The most expensive Sierra pickups get a 6.2-liter, 403-hp, flex-fuel V-8 that also shows up in the swank Cadillac Escalade. The 5.3-liter as it has plenty of power for most needs without much lower fuel economy than the base V-6. The base V-6 and base V-8 are teamed with a four-speed automatic; all other versions have a six-speed automatic that shifts very smoothly, helps achieve better fuel economy, and cuts down on noise. The Sierra gets up to 15/22 mpg in the XFE edition, falling to only 12/19 mpg in loaded versions.

2011 gmc sierra denali 3500hd front angle view 2011 GMC Sierra Denali 3500HD

Considering that GMC’s Denali line has been known for truck luxury since 1999, now General Motors announced it was expanding its Denali line to include heavy-duty GMC pickups.

The new Denali version: Add chrome, offer Denali-unique wheels and tires, and Denali-specific interior cues, and, in some cases, make a larger-displacement, higher-horsepower engine standard. Look at the Yukon and Yukon XL Denali. In addition to the Denali styling upgrades, that trim level is the only one where you can get the 403-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8.

The Denali package is available on 3/4- and one-ton heavy-duty trucks, crew cab only, with either rear- or four-wheel drive. Denalis come with the standard (6.5-foot, 2500HD) or long (8.0-foot, 3500HD) bed.

2011 GMC Sierra Denali 3500HD unlike the other vehicles offered with the Denali package, the Sierra HDs come with the same engine/transmission pairings; the 6.0-liter V-8 and 6L90 six-speed automatic transmission is standard, and the 397-horsepower, 765-pound-foot 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V-8 and Allison 1000 six-speed automatic are an $8395 option.

GM have said that we can expect a Sierra HD Concept at the North American International Auto Show in January. The super-sized concept will likely show one possible design direction for the haul-happy pickup, giving it new sheetmetal to accompany its already very capable hardware. To information detail wait until January to find out.!

2010 GMC Sierra Hybrid Crew Cab

2010 gmc sierra hybrid crew cab front side view 2010 GMC Sierra Hybrid Crew Cab

GMC Sierra Hybrid Crew Cab is a powerful full-size pickup that achieves 40-percent greater city fuel economy and a 25-percent improvement in overall fuel economy while delivering the capability expected of a full-size truck – including a 6,100-pound (2,767 kg) towing capacity.

Thanks to the two-mode hybrid system and a powerful 6.0L gas V-8, the Sierra Hybrid delivers highly efficient performance, including all-electric driving up to 30 mph (48 km/h). Sierra Hybrid will deliver fuel economy that is expected to be the best in the full-size pickup segment, exceeding the current mileage leader – the non-hybrid Sierra.

It will be offered in the Crew Cab body style on both 2WD and 4WD models. Each model is equipped with several standard, popular features, including StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, a locking rear axle and a trailering package. Sierra Hybrid also offers dual-stage frontal air bags and head curtain side air bags.

The Sierra Hybrid’s fuel-saving performance is derived from GM’s advanced Electrically Variable Transmission (EVT) and 300-volt nickel-metal hydride Energy Storage System (ESS), which work in concert with the standard 6.0L V-8 gasoline engine with Active Fuel Management (AFM) and late intake valve closing (LIVC) technology. GM’s hybrid technology system not only enables the Sierra to launch and drive up to 30 mph on electricity alone, it also allows the Vortec 6.0L V-8 engine to operate in its more economical V-4 mode for longer periods.

Contributors to the quiet driving experience include:

  • New exhaust system and resonator tuned for the 6.0L engine’s Active Fuel Management operation
  • Additional engine intake induction tuning for reduced interior noise and pleasing sound quality
  • Low-rolling resistance, “quiet-tuned” P265/65R18 tires for reduced road noise
  • Electrically driven 300-volt air conditioning compressor reduces vibration and allows the standard, tri-zone HVAC system to cool the passenger compartment even when the gasoline engine is shut off
  • Electrically driven 42-volt variable-assist power steering reduces vibration and provides up to a 0.5-mpg fuel economy improvement by reducing parasitic losses common in belt-driven hydraulic systems
  • Energy Storage System (ESS) cooling system internal fan is tuned to be quiet at low vehicle speeds when the fan could more easily be heard by the occupants.

In addition, GMC Sierra Hybrid Crew Cab support by EVT, which is always provides abundant torque at all rpm levels for easy towing. t is particularly helpful on grades, as the EVT’s greater ratio spread allows the engine to hold optimal rpm for smooth, steady performance, with no hunting between higher and lower gears. The EVT incorporates grade braking and tap up/tap.
